Petition

The following residents of the ACT draw to the attention of the Assembly longstanding concerns about the safety of the intersection of Tasmania Circle and Monaro Crescent in Forrest, including numerous motor vehicle accidents and near-misses.

These issues have been exacerbated by poor visibility and the lack of traffic signage at the intersection, much of which is missing or has been destroyed.

Local residents have repeatedly reported missing signage via Fix My Street, but the ACT Government has failed to replace the signage.

Requested actions

Your petitioners therefore request the Assembly to call on the ACT Government to urgently implement safety improvements, including replacing missing traffic signs, and consider the introduction of stop signs and traffic calming for the intersection.
